“In our sessions we will look at the impact of early development, attachment, components of identity, methods of striving for significance and belonging in the world, and strategies for establishing resilience and coping with distress.”

I value looking at how our unique histories influence who we are today. Because of this, I work primarily from a relational based framework that takes into account various influential factors. My specialty areas include anxiety, mood disorders, self-esteem, social skill deficits, relationship issues, inattention, and obsessive compulsive thought and behavior patterns. In our sessions we will look at the impact of early development, attachment, components of identity, methods of striving for significance and belonging in the world, and strategies for establishing resilience and coping with distress.

I take on a curious and collaborative approach with my clients in examining these influences. Doing so brings about awareness of one’s sensitivities and stressors, core values, and the patterns of behavior that cause one to feel “stuck” or overwhelmed.  You may also find me using humor to promote my clients’ ability to take self-accountability while learning that we can challenge ourselves through love and light-heartedness. My experience in gaining my doctoral degree gives me unique insights into the latest research in psychology, which I also bring into my sessions through psychoeducation.

I also teach practical skills and methods for managing daily life stressors, including mindfulness, drawn from concepts of ACT and DBT.  My work encourages clients to have improved self-insight, quality of life, and sense of well-being.
