Coaching and Intensives
With Dr. Jen Schroeder
Holistic Coaching
Holistic coaching focuses on developing your whole being, including their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being. This holistic approach can help you achieve greater levels of success and well-being in all aspects of your life.
Coaching differs from therapy in that it’s focus is not on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions such as depression, clinical anxiety, or PTSD. Coaching services are focused on helping you to gain clarity around where you , identify and work through internal blocks, develop self-leadership, and work towards living their most authentic life.
Holistic coaching offers a way to deepen your self awareness, gain clarity on your authentic vision, resolve inner conflicts that block progress, and work towards meaningful shifts that will move you towards your vision for the life you want.
Therapeutic Intensives
Therapeutic Intensives are a multi-hour, personalized, retreat style, experience. catalyst for healing, growth and repair by enabling an in depth, uninterrupted therapeutic experience and accelerated results.
Intensive Programs are NOT intended to be a long term solution to therapy! They are intended to get to the root of problem quickly through a comprehensive assessment that allows for working towards targeted goals intended to create meaningful shifts in a brief amount of time.
Intensive experience can be a powerful addition to weekly therapy services and can support the work you are doing with your current therapist by offering additional insight into the root of certain dynamics or through facilitating an internal shift that can quickly deepend and further the therapeutic work.
GETTING TO THE ROOT
My method of working intensively
has been refined through rigorous training, supervision, and years of experience working with a diverse clientele, ranging in age from 3 to 80. This broad experience has given me an understanding of individuals across the life cycle. My process begins with a holistic assessment that allows me to uncover the root of the problem quickly. By combining my expertise in psychological assessment, human development, attachment, and neurobiology; I create a nuanced profile of each individual that not only considers internal physiological and psychological experiences but also considers the complete individual within their cultural, historical, and developmental context.
Being deeply empathetic, my approach blends intuition with a solid theoretical foundation to cater to the unique needs of the individual(s) I support. I utilize various techniques such as Internal Family Systems, body-based somatic approaches, Emotionally Focused Therapy, IMAGO, Narrative, expressive arts, and mindfulness to create a tailored experience focused on fostering co-regulation, embodiment, curiosity, and deepening self-awareness in my clients.

THE INTENSIVES PROCESS
UNDERSTAND
I begin the intensive process by develop a comprehensive psychosocial understanding of your internal system. This allows us to narrow our focus and identify your path towards meaningful change.
-
This process begins with the use of carefully selected assessment tools and inventories designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of your inner world. Alongside these, I have developed extensive questionnaires with open ended questions tailored to help me get to know you as a unique individual within your cultural and social context. These tools will allow us to narrow our focus and identify key areas for exploration and growth when we meet.
-
We will meet for an intake session where we will narrow in on the nature of your current concerns and clarify your goals for our work together. The goal of this session is to gain a deeper understanding of your internal system and identify your “parts-of-self” that are involved with the target dynamic.
*Assessment will include but not be limited to inborn tendencies, ways of processing the world, relational history, attachment style, losses, strengths, supports, values, dreams, and your current understanding of areas where you are seeking growth.
-
Collateral | ancillary interviews with important people (it can be helpful to gain different perspectives from those who know us best.) especially if focus is relationship concerns. Although not necessary these interviews can help me to gain a more nuanced understanding by experiencing the people 1st hand.
-
In this session I will share my assessment and propose a path forward including an estimate of the number of intensive sessions required to achieve your goals. If we agree that intensives are an appropriate methodology, we will collaboratively clarify the inner dynamics that we will focus on as we begin our work. If this approach does not seem appropriate I will make appropriate referrals for next steps and offer suggestions for areas of focus based on my findings.
CONNECT + REPAIR
In our first intensive session focus will be on setting the frame, establishing boundaries and containment, accessing self-energy and building safety in connection.
-
Somatic interventions will be offered with a focus on creating safety, calming your protective system, and developing increased awareness of bodily sensations associated with Self and parts.
-
The Internal Family Systems approach will be used to develop understanding of protective parts, build trust within the system, and address the concerns of target “Protectors,” allowing for access to "Exiled" parts with the goal of unburdening and reintegrating. blocking growth and healing. Together we will work to build trust within your system and bear witness to parts holding beliefs and burdens that no longer serve you.
-
In this phase I will guide you through processing the experience of calming your nervous system and connecting with your “Parts” to facilitate a deeper understanding of yourself while fostering compassion towards dynamics that may be causing pain or distress.
INTEGRATE + GROW
In this phase the focus in on integrating internal shifts and creating tangible next steps to continue your growth.
-
Rituals and expressive arts activities will be offered to aid in integrating the work.
-
Identify an actionable plan to support your growth following the work. Anticipate spending 2-3 hours outside of session to support and continue your growth.
-
A 1-hour, follow-up will be offered within 2-weeks of your intensive. If we decide to meet for multiple intensives this hour can be added to the intensive session or used to help guide and plan the work in between intensives.
Post session forms will be provided to support your growth between meetings and focus our time in follow up sessions. If multiple sessions are recommended this work will allow us to go deeper faster as we return and move towards releasing burdens.
