Anjali Kingsley, RYT-200
Anjali Kingsley started her yoga journey in 2007 when she traveled to the Ayurveda Retreat in Tamil Nadu, India and enrolled in a yoga teacher training program. The call to travel came from years of fighting an autoimmune disease that left her distressed physically and emotionally drained. After she enrolled in the training program, she learned the history and philosophy of yoga, committed to its mental and physical exercises, and developed a deeper understanding and appreciation for the practice. Over time, she began to witness the powerful effects of yoga within her mind and body and felt the call to teach. After returning to Chicago, she began to connect with those who have developed health limitations resulting from aging, illness, disease, accidents, etc. This led to teaching partnerships with both medical and rehabilitation organizations, such as The Cancer Integrative Center at Rush, The Cancer Center at St. Joseph Hospital and the Diamond Headache Clinic.
She wholeheartedly believes in the transformative power of yoga and finds tremendous joy in sharing the practice with others. She aspires to lead classes that welcome students into a space where they allow themselves to move their bodies with grace, breathe into the present moment, and connect to their inner guidance and wisdom within.
